- In the box. If you purchase directly from a Miu Miu store or the official Miu Miu website you will always receive a pink Miu Miu shoe box, 2 shoe dust bags, care instructions, an invoice (in a white paper sleeve) and pink envelope, as featured below. If buying pre-loved pay close attention to the box details, including the white Miu Miu stitched logo which will be linear and each stitch will be precise. Both shoes will have individual dust bags in pink with the Miu Miu markings, again with linear stitching around the edges. Box, dust bags and care labels alone are not enough to authenticate a product, as they can be easily purchased online.

- The leather. Miu Miu shoes are often hand crafted with nappa leather. This is soft to the touch and will smell of leather. Fine scratches and blemishes are common on nappa leather when purchasing pre-loved.
- The stitching. The stitching will be perfectly aligned. Pay close attention to the sole and inner stitching up close.
- Miu Miu label. The Miu Miu font markings are crisp and clear without any distortions. This is apparent from box the inner shoe, outer shoe and box.
Miu Miu Nappa embellished ballet flats currently retail for £525 on My Theresa, see here.
